Account information — your email address and credentials when you register.
Product scan data — barcodes you scan and products you add are processed to retrieve ingredient information. Scan data is not retained on our servers beyond what is necessary to serve the result.
Voice input — when you use Ask AI voice input, your spoken words are converted to text in the moment. Audio is not stored or recorded continuously.
Device and technical information — device model, OS version, app version, crash reports, and anonymised usage analytics collected to maintain and improve the App.
Advertising identifier — your Android Advertising ID may be accessed for ad relevance and measurement. You may opt out at any time via device Settings → Google → Ads.

PureCheck requires the following permissions. User-Granted permissions require your explicit approval and can be revoked at any time via device Settings. Auto-Granted permissions are approved by the system automatically.
CAMERA — User-Granted (Runtime Permission)
Used by: Barcode Scanner, Add Product, AI Product Scan, Profile Photo
Accesses your camera to scan product barcodes, capture product images for AI analysis, and set profile photos. Camera is accessed only when you initiate one of these actions — never in the background. Images submitted for AI product scanning are transmitted to our servers for product identification only, processed ephemerally, and not retained. Before the system permission prompt appears, the App displays an in-app explanation of what will be accessed and why. You may revoke this permission at any time via device Settings.
RECORD_AUDIO — User-Granted (Runtime Permission)
Used by: Ask AI Voice Input
Accesses your microphone solely to convert speech to text when you tap the microphone button in Ask AI. Audio is not recorded continuously, not stored on your device or our servers, and not transmitted for any purpose beyond the immediate conversion. Before the system permission prompt appears, the App displays an in-app explanation. You may revoke this permission at any time via device Settings.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS — User-Granted (Android 13+)
Used by: App Notifications, Firebase Push Notifications
Used to send you app updates and Firebase Cloud Messaging push notifications. On Android 13 and above, you will be prompted to grant this permission. You may enable or disable notifications at any time in device Settings. Notification content will never include your health data or product scan history.
INTERNET — Auto-Granted (No User Prompt)
Used by: Core App Functions
Required for all online functionality — product data retrieval, user data sync, Ask AI, image loading, authentication, and subscription processing. All data transmitted between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — Auto-Granted (No User Prompt)
Used by: Offline Handling, Connectivity Monitoring
Checks whether the device is online or offline so the App can display appropriate messages and manage network operations accordingly. No personal data is collected through this permission.
VIBRATE — Auto-Granted (No User Prompt)
Used by: Scanner Haptics, UI Feedback
Provides short tactile feedback when you scan a product or interact with supported UI controls. No data is collected or transmitted through this permission.
In-App Disclosure Note: For CAMERA and RECORD_AUDIO, the App displays an in-app screen explaining what will be accessed, why it is needed, and how data will be handled before the system permission prompt is shown.
