1. Where This Policy Applies

This Privacy Policy applies to the App Blocker application and all related services operated by Pixster Studio (collectively referred to as the "App" or "services"). The App is designed to help users manage, restrict, and monitor access to other applications installed on their Android device. By installing or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

2. Permissions We Request and Why

Because the App actively monitors and controls other applications on your device, it requires a number of Android permissions to function. We request only those permissions that are strictly necessary for the App to deliver its features. The following sections describe each permission, the purpose for which it is required, and whether any related data is transmitted outside of your device.

2.1 Permissions You Will Be Asked to Allow

Location (Precise and Approximate). Android requires location permission in order to scan for and detect nearby Wi-Fi networks. This permission is used solely to identify which Wi-Fi network your device is connected to, for the purpose of enabling network-based blocking rules. We do not track, record, or transmit your physical location. No location data leaves your device.

Nearby Wi-Fi Devices. This permission allows the App to see the Wi-Fi networks available in your vicinity so that you can create blocking rules that activate on specific networks — for example, blocking social media applications when connected to your home Wi-Fi. No data about nearby devices is transmitted to our servers.

Notifications. This permission is required to send you on-device alerts and reminders about active blocking sessions, scheduled focus periods, and important App updates. Notification content is generated locally on your device and is not transmitted to any external party.

2.2 Special Access You Must Enable Manually in Settings

Accessibility Access. Accessibility Access is the primary mechanism by which the App detects which application is currently running in the foreground and displays a blocking screen when a restricted application is opened. Without this permission, the core app-blocking functionality cannot operate. We do not read, capture, or transmit any content displayed on your screen. The only information accessed through this permission is the package name or identifier of the foreground application, which is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

Usage Access. This permission allows the App to view which applications you have used and for how long, enabling usage statistics and time-based blocking rules. All usage data collected through this permission is stored locally on your device and is not shared with us or any third party.

Display Over Other Apps. This permission is required to display the blocking overlay screen on top of a restricted application when you attempt to open it. Without this permission, the blocking screen cannot appear.

Modify System Settings. This permission allows the App to adjust certain phone settings, such as screen brightness or sound volume, as part of a focus session. These adjustments are made only when you have explicitly configured such rules within the App, and the permission is not used for any other purpose.

Do Not Disturb Access. This permission allows the App to automatically enable or disable Do Not Disturb or silent mode at the start and end of a scheduled focus session. This action is performed only in accordance with the schedule you have configured.

Device Admin Access. This permission is optional and, if enabled by you, makes the App more resistant to uninstallation without first deactivating it in your device settings. This feature is intended for users who wish to prevent themselves from bypassing their own blocking rules. You may revoke Device Admin Access at any time by navigating to Settings, then Security, then Device Admin Apps on your Android device. No data associated with this permission is transmitted externally.

2.3 Permissions That Are Automatically Granted and Run in the Background

Internet and Network Access. This permission is used to connect to our servers for the purpose of license verification and, if you have opted in, to synchronise your blocking schedules across devices. Only the minimum data necessary for these functions is transmitted.

Wi-Fi Control. This permission allows the App to read and, where you have configured applicable rules, to modify the Wi-Fi state of your device as part of network-based blocking functionality.

Run in Background. This permission keeps the blocking service active even when you are not directly using the App, ensuring that your schedules and blocking rules remain enforced at all times.

Close Other Apps. This permission enables the App to enforce blocking by redirecting or closing restricted applications when they are detected in the foreground.

View Installed Apps. This permission is required to compile the list of applications installed on your device so that you may select which ones to block. This list is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or shared with any third party.

2.4 Security and Other Permissions

Biometric Access (Fingerprint and Face Recognition). This permission allows you to lock the App's settings behind your device's biometric authentication method, ensuring that only you can modify or disable blocking rules. All biometric verification is handled exclusively by Android's system-level APIs. We do not access, process, collect, or store any biometric data whatsoever.

Internal Permissions. The App uses certain low-level Android permissions internally to ensure its stability and correct operation. These permissions require no action from you and do not involve the collection or processing of personal data.

3. Information We Collect and How We Use It

3.1 Information You Provide to Us

If you create an account, you provide us with login credentials such as your email address and password. In certain features you may also provide a display name or other profile details. This information is used to maintain your account, authenticate your license, and provide customer support.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, we may automatically collect certain technical and diagnostic information, including your device type, operating system version, App version, and anonymous usage analytics such as feature usage frequency and crash reports. This information is used solely to improve the App, identify and resolve technical issues, and develop new features. It does not identify you personally.

3.3 Usage and Blocking Data — Stored Locally Only

All data relating to which applications are installed on your device, which applications you have chosen to block, your usage statistics, and your blocking schedules is stored exclusively on your device. This data is not transmitted to our servers unless you have explicitly enabled cloud synchronisation in the App's settings.

3.4 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to deliver and operate the App and its features; to maintain your account and verify your license; to provide customer support and respond to your requests; to analyse anonymous, aggregated usage patterns for the purpose of improving the App; to develop new features based on user behaviour and feedback; to send you on-device notifications about your active blocking sessions and schedules; to send you service-related communications such as account confirmations, security notices, and product change announcements; and, with your consent, to send you marketing communications about new features, which you may opt out of at any time.

We use Google Firebase for anonymous crash reporting and analytics. Any data shared with Google in this context is subject to Google's Privacy Policy, available at google.com/privacy.html. For further information on how Google uses data, please see google.com/policies/privacy/partners/.

If you are using the free version of the App, we use Google AdMob to serve advertisements within the App. AdMob may collect and use certain information from your device in order to display relevant advertisements, as described further in Section 6 of this Policy. Users who upgrade to the paid version of the App will no longer be shown advertisements served by AdMob.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party. We may share limited data with trusted third parties only in the following circumstances: with service providers such as analytics, crash-reporting, and advertising partners who process data on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality obligations; when required by law, court order, or governmental authority; to detect and prevent fraudulent or illegal activity; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

If you are using the free version of the App, certain device identifiers and usage signals may be shared with Google AdMob for the purpose of delivering and measuring advertisements displayed within the App. This sharing is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and, where applicable, Google's consent-based advertising framework. Paid users are not subject to this data sharing for advertising purposes.

We never share your list of installed applications, your selected blocked applications, your usage statistics, your biometric data, or your blocking schedules with any third party under any circumstances.

5. Location Data

We do not track, record, or transmit your precise or approximate physical location. The location permission is required solely by Android's operating system to perform Wi-Fi network scanning. Location data is processed on-device only and never leaves your device.

6. Advertising, Cookies, and Similar Technologies

The free version of the App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob, a mobile advertising service operated by Google LLC. In order to serve, target, and measure the effectiveness of these advertisements, AdMob and its partners may collect and use certain information from your device automatically. This information may include your device's advertising identifier (the Android Advertising ID, or AAID), IP address, device make and model, operating system version, general location inferred from your IP address, and information about your interactions with advertisements displayed within the App. This data is collected through SDKs embedded in the App and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.

AdMob may use this information to display advertisements that are tailored to your interests based on your inferred preferences and browsing behaviour across applications and websites. This practice is commonly referred to as interest-based advertising or personalized advertising. Pixster Studio does not control the specific advertisements that AdMob displays or the data that AdMob collects independently through its SDK for its own purposes. Users who upgrade to the paid version of the App will no longer be shown advertisements, and AdMob will not collect data within the App for advertising purposes for paid users.

You may opt out of personalized advertising at any time. On your Android device, you may do so by navigating to Settings, then Google, then Ads, and selecting "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization," depending on your Android version. Please note that opting out of personalized advertising does not mean you will no longer see advertisements in the free version of the App; it means that the advertisements you see will be based on contextual factors rather than your inferred interests. You may also review and manage your Google advertising settings at adssettings.google.com.

The App itself does not use browser cookies. If you visit our website, we may use standard web cookies for analytics and session management purposes, which you may control through your browser settings.

Users who upgrade to the paid version of the App will no longer be shown advertisements, and AdMob will not collect data within the App for advertising purposes for paid users.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active. Local on-device data, including blocking rules and usage statistics, is retained until you uninstall the App or clear the App's data through your device settings. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within thirty (30) days of receiving your request, except where retention is required by applicable law.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at feedback@pixsterstudio.com and we will take prompt steps to delete such information.

9. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit using TLS, access controls, and periodic security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account and to enable device encryption on your Android device.

10. GDPR — Rights of Users in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR, as applicable, governs our processing of your personal data.

Legal Bases for Processing. We process your personal data on the following legal bases: performance of the contract between you and us, which is necessary to provide the App's services; our legitimate interests in operating and improving the App, which do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms; your consent, where you have provided it for specific purposes such as marketing communications, which you may withdraw at any time; and compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject.

Your Rights Under GDPR. Subject to the conditions and limitations set out in applicable law, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data. You have the right of access, meaning you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. You have the right to rectification, meaning you may request that inaccurate or incomplete personal data be corrected or completed. You have the right to erasure, sometimes referred to as the "right to be forgotten," meaning you may request the deletion of your personal data where there is no compelling reason for us to continue processing it. You have the right to restriction of processing, meaning you may ask us to restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances. You have the right to data portability, meaning you may request your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and have it transmitted to another controller where technically feasible. You have the right to object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests or for the purposes of direct marketing. Where processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing that occurred prior to withdrawal. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority, such as the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the United Kingdom, or the relevant authority in your EU member state.

11. CCPA — Rights of California Residents

If you are a resident of California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) grant you specific rights with respect to your personal information.

Right to Know. You have the right to request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you over the preceding twelve (12) months, the categories of sources from which that information was collected, the business or commercial purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.

Right to Delete. You have the right to request the deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions permitted by law.

Right to Correct. You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.

Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing. We do not sell your personal information. However, if you are a free user, the sharing of your Android Advertising ID and related signals with Google AdMob for personalized advertising purposes may constitute "sharing" of personal information under the CPRA. You may opt out of this sharing at any time by opting out of personalized advertising on your Android device as described in Section 6 of this Policy, or by upgrading to the paid version of the App.

Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information. We do not use sensitive personal information, including biometric data, for any purpose other than delivering the App's core functionality as described in this Privacy Policy.

Right to Non-Discrimination. We will not discriminate against you in any way for exercising any of your rights under the CCPA or CPRA.

Categories of Personal Information Collected in the Last Twelve Months. In the preceding twelve (12) months, we have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers such as your email address and account ID, collected for the purpose of account management and authentication; device and technical information such as device type and operating system version, collected for App functionality and anonymous crash analytics; and limited internet or network activity data in the form of anonymous analytics, collected for the purpose of App improvement. If you are a free user, your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID) and related signals may also be collected by Google AdMob for the purpose of serving and measuring in-app advertisements; this constitutes a category of identifiers collected for a commercial advertising purpose. We have not collected geolocation data through our servers, biometric identifiers, or your list of installed applications through our servers. All such data is processed on-device only and does not leave your device.

To exercise your rights under the CCPA or CPRA, please contact us at feedback@pixsterstudio.com. We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within forty-five (45) days as required by law. You may also designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf, subject to applicable verification requirements.

Regardless of your location, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to receive copies of it; to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information; to request deletion of your personal information in circumstances where we have no overriding legal obligation to retain it; to receive your personal information in a portable format where technically feasible; to opt out of marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in any such communication or by contacting us directly; and to withdraw consent to processing where our processing is based solely on your consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to such withdrawal.

We will endeavour to respond to all requests within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law. Please note that certain requests may be subject to limitations, including where fulfilling a request would prevent us from providing the App's services to you or where we are required by law to retain certain information.

The App uses the following third-party services, each of which is governed by its own terms of service and privacy policy. Google AdMob is used to serve advertisements to users of the free version of the App; AdMob's privacy policy and advertising practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy, and Google's advertising opt-out tools are available at adssettings.google.com. Google Firebase is used for anonymous crash reporting and usage analytics; Firebase's privacy information is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy. Google Play Billing is used to process in-app purchases and subscription payments; Google's general privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy. We are not responsible for the data collection or privacy practices of any third-party service provider. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these services independently.

14. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in our data practices, our services, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Policy and, where required by law or where we consider it appropriate, notify you via in-app message or email. Your continued use of the App following the posting of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
