This Privacy Policy explains how Pixster Studio (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you use the AI CAD Editor: DWG Viewer app for Android (the “App”). It is written to meet the requirements of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA (CCPA/CPRA), India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and Google Play’s User Data policy.
The short version: the App shows no ads. You sign in with your Google account, and we keep a small account record so you can use the App and its Premium features. Your drawings, models, punch lists, photos and voice notes stay on your device. Content leaves your device only when you use Design with AI, when you choose to share or export a file, or as limited analytics and crash data described below.
What AI CAD Editor: DWG Viewer does
The App lets you open, view, measure, edit, mark up, compare and convert 2D drawings and 3D models, including DWG, DXF, PDF, STL, OBJ, PLY, glTF/GLB, 3MF, STEP and IFC files. You can keep punch lists of issues with photos and voice notes, export drawings and reports, and use Design with AI to turn a written or spoken brief into an editable floor plan or 3D model.
Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
Account information: the App requires you to sign in with your Google account. When you sign in, Google shares with us your name, email address, profile photo and a Google account identifier; we never receive your Google password. We create an account for you with Firebase Authentication and keep an account record that holds this information together with your account user ID, the sign-in method, your platform, App version and language, when you created the account and last signed in, whether Premium is active, and how much of the Design with AI allowance you have used (numbers of requests and amounts of AI processing only, never your briefs or designs).
Your files: drawings, models and PDFs you open in the App. They are read and processed on your device. The App keeps a private copy of each file you open so it can reopen it later. We do not upload your files to our servers.
Punch lists: issue titles, notes, status, assignee names you type, pin positions, and any photos or voice notes you attach. These are stored only on your device.
Design with AI inputs: the brief you type or dictate, any sketch photo you choose to add, the style, units and options you pick, and the earlier layout you ask the AI to change. These are sent to our server and our AI provider to create your design (see “AI processing”).
Reports about AI results: if you use “Report this result”, we receive the reasons you pick, any details you write, the brief, the AI’s answer and the layout it made, your language and the App version. No account or device identifier is attached.
Ratings and feedback: if you rate the App in the App, we receive the star rating and the reasons you pick. If you give a low rating and write feedback, we receive that text through our crash and diagnostics service.
Support: if you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write.
2.2 Information collected automatically
Usage information: which screens and features you use (for example opening a file, starting a design, viewing the paywall). Events are recorded without your file contents.
Device and app information: device model, Android version, App version, language and country or region derived from your IP address, and an app-instance identifier created by Firebase.
Diagnostics: crash reports and error logs, including the device state at the time of a crash, so we can fix problems.
Purchase information: your subscription status, plan, purchase token and purchase time, received from Google Play and our subscription service, and an anonymous user ID created by our subscription service (Qonversion) to link your purchases to your copy of the App. We never receive your payment card details.
IP address: our server sees the IP address of each Design with AI request as part of the connection. We do not store it with your content.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, call logs, SMS, browsing history or advertising ID, and we do not show ads.
App permissions
The App asks for a permission only when you first use the feature that needs it. You can refuse, and the rest of the App keeps working.
Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): used to record voice notes on punch-list issues, and to dictate a Design with AI brief.
Voice notes are saved as audio files on your device only.
Dictation is converted to text on your device by Google’s on-device speech recognition (ML Kit) where your device supports it. On devices where it is not available, the App uses your device’s built-in speech recognition service, which may process the audio under that service’s own terms (for example Google’s). The App does not store dictation audio.
Photos and files: photos for punch-list issues are taken with your device’s camera app and saved on your device only. Sketches for Design with AI are picked with the Android Photo Picker, and drawings are opened with the system file picker or from another app. The App sees only the items you choose and does not need access to your camera, your whole photo library or your storage.
Internet: used for Design with AI, purchases, analytics and crash reports. Viewing and editing files works offline.
How we use your information
To provide the App’s features, including Design with AI.
To create and run your account, keep you signed in, and apply the right Design with AI allowance for your plan.
To process and restore purchases and check your subscription status.
To understand which features are used, so we can improve them.
To find and fix crashes and errors.
To review reports of harmful or wrong AI results and improve the feature.
To protect our server from abuse and automated misuse.
To reply to you when you contact us.
To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
AI processing
Design with AI is optional. When you use it, your brief, any sketch photo you add, your chosen options and the layout you are changing are sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which runs on Google Cloud Functions for Firebase in the United States (us-central1). Our server passes this content to our AI provider to generate the design:
Google (Gemini API, paid tier): we use the paid tier of the Gemini API, under which Google does not use your content to train or improve its models. It generates designs, and researches a real building or project named in your brief. For that research, Gemini searches the web with Google Search, and our server reads public pages such as a project brochure. Google acts as our service provider. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Before a sketch photo is sent, the App tells you that the photo is sent to Google Gemini through our server, and nothing is sent unless you agree.
No training: we use the provider’s paid API, under which it does not use your content to train its models.
Retention: our server does not store your brief, sketch or design. The AI provider may keep inputs and outputs for a limited time under its API terms, for safety and abuse monitoring, and then delete them. Public research results about a named building (the sources and their text, not your brief) are cached on our server for up to 30 days, linked only to a one-way code made from the request, so the same research does not have to be repeated.
Do not include sensitive information in a brief or sketch, such as personal details about other people, passwords or confidential client information you are not allowed to share.
Accuracy: AI-generated plans and models may contain mistakes. Check them before relying on them (see our Terms of Use).
Reporting: you can report an offensive, harmful or wrong result from the result screen with “Report this result”.
How we share information
We share information only with these service providers, who process it for us under contract, and only as needed to run the App:
Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Functions): signing you in and storing your account record, usage statistics, crash reports, running our server and app configuration.
Google Sign-In (Google LLC): confirms your Google account and shares your name, email address and profile photo with us when you sign in. Google handles your Google account under its own privacy policy. https://policies.google.com/privacy https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Google Gemini API: Design with AI, as described above.
Qonversion: checks and records the status of your subscription. https://qonversion.io/privacy
Google Play: downloads, purchases, subscriptions, refunds and in-app reviews are handled by Google under its own privacy policy. https://policies.google.com/privacy
We may also share information:
For legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or Pixster Studio.
In a business transfer: if Pixster Studio is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, under the same protections as this Policy.
With your consent or at your direction: for example when you share or export a drawing, report or model to another app. That app’s own policy then applies.
Our service providers must protect your information to the same standard as this Policy.
Legal bases for processing (EEA and UK)
Contract: to create and run your account, to provide the features you use, including Design with AI, and to handle purchases.
Legitimate interests: analytics, crash reporting and abuse prevention, to keep the App working, safe and improving. We use analytics only to produce statistics about how the App is used so we can improve it. We do not use it for advertising. You can object to analytics and crash reporting at any time by emailing us (see “Your choices”).
Consent: microphone access and sending a sketch photo to Design with AI, which you can withdraw at any time.
Legal obligation: keeping purchase records and responding to lawful requests.
Data retention and deletion
Account record and sign-in: kept for as long as you have an account, and deleted when you delete your account (see “How to delete your account”).
On your device: files, punch lists, photos, voice notes, designs and settings stay until you delete them in the App or uninstall it. If Android backup is turned on for your device, this data may be included in your Google backup under Google’s terms; you control that in your device’s backup settings.
Design with AI content: not stored on our server. The AI provider keeps it only for the limited time set by its API terms.
Analytics data: kept for 14 months.
Crash reports and feedback text: kept for 90 days.
Server request logs: technical records without your content, kept for 30 days.
Purchase records: kept while your subscription is active and afterwards as long as tax and accounting laws require.
How to delete your account
In the App: open Settings → Account → Delete account and confirm. You need an internet connection.
Without the App: if you no longer have the App installed, or cannot open it, email feedback@pixsterstudio.com with the subject “Delete my account”, from the email address of the Google account you use to sign in. We may ask you to confirm the request is yours before we act on it, so that no one else can delete your account.
What we delete: your account record (name, email address, profile photo, account user ID, Premium status and Design with AI usage) and your sign-in with us. When you delete your account in the App, the App also wipes everything it stores on that device: recent files, drawings and designs you made, punch lists, photos, voice notes and settings. Files stored elsewhere on your device or in other apps are not touched.
When: in the App, your account and sign-in are deleted straight away. Requests made by email are completed within 30 days of the request being confirmed.
What we may keep, and why:
Server request logs, which may include your account user ID but not your content, for up to 30 days, after which they are deleted automatically.
Purchase records held by Google Play and our subscription service, as long as tax and accounting laws require. These are linked to your Google Play purchase, not to your account with us.
Analytics and crash data, which are not linked to your account, for the periods listed above.
Information we must keep to meet a legal obligation, resolve a dispute or enforce our terms.
Deleting your account does not cancel a Premium subscription. Cancel it first in Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone; you can sign in again later, but you will start with a new, empty account.
To delete other data kept on our side without deleting your account, email feedback@pixsterstudio.com. If you can, include your Google Play order ID so we can find purchase records. Uninstalling the App deletes the data on your device, but it does not delete your account or cancel a subscription.
Data security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data sent from the App and restrict access to our server and keys. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
International data transfers
Pixster Studio is based in India, and our server and service providers are mainly in the United States. When information is transferred outside your country, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses offered by our providers.
Your choices
Account: you can delete your account at any time (see “How to delete your account”), and ask us for a copy of the account information we hold by emailing feedback@pixsterstudio.com.
Permissions: turn microphone access on or off in Android Settings → Apps → AI CAD Editor → Permissions.
Analytics and crash reports: to object to analytics or crash reporting, email feedback@pixsterstudio.com. This is free and does not affect any feature. We may ask for information that helps us find the data linked to your copy of the App.
AI features: Design with AI is optional. If you do not use it, nothing you create is sent to an AI provider.
Sharing: files leave the App only when you choose to share or export them.
Backup: control Android backup in your device settings.
Subscription: manage or cancel in Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
correct inaccurate information;
delete your information;
restrict or object to processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
receive your information in a portable format;
